L.A. Unified School District Superintendent Ramon Cortines closed all schools on Dec. 15th in response to an email threat sent to members of the Los Angeles Board of Education. The decision was made to close all 900 schools in LA (the 2nd largest school system in the U.S.) impacting over 600k students to allow for the inspection of all campuses by law enforcement. The threat came weeks after the shootings in San Bernadino that killed 14. A similar threat was sent to New York City schools but was quickly dismissed as a hoax by law enforcement. Do you think Cortines made the right move?
