The recent Wikileaks drop of 20k internal Democratic National Committee emails has caused a major stir. It has not reflected well on Team Clinton. However, U.S. intelligence agencies have informed the White House that they are confident that the Russian government was involved in the theft of the emails and documents. What is yet to be known is whether the "electronic break-in at the committee’s computer systems was intended as fairly routine cyberespionage — of the kind the United States also conducts around the world — or as part of an effort to manipulate the 2016 presidential election."
